I have a WordPress blog that is hosted on Yahoo Business: https://www.capuderfantasia.com/blog
This morning, I was in the administrative dashboard, and updated two plugins. The plugins that I updated, from the plugins folder, are: 1-click-retweetsharelike and xhanch-my-twitter. Everything appeared to update properly. I think clicked on the dashboard to open the list of links, because I wanted to create a new link. When I clicked “Links” on the dashboard, a blank screen came up. After that, anything I clicked in the dashboard produced a blank screen. I closed to dashboard and went to my blog in a browser. The main page of the blog appeared, but anything I click that is internal to the blog (like a page on the blog) also produced a blank screen. I tried to sign into the administrative area by clicking “Site Admin” on first page of blog, and got a blank screen. I went to my Yahoo Business domain management page, and went to the blog management page, and all links to that blog produce a blank page from the domain management area. A second blog that I have hosted by Yahoo Business works fine, and I did not update any plugins on that site that works fine.
–I found a suggestion in WordPress help that recommends renaming the plugins folder. I did that, followed the advice about creating a new blank plugins folder, but that did not help. Here is the help article I followed:
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F
–So my blog is completely nonfunctional. I created a backup for the first time after this problem this morning. I have not tried to repair the files (an option in my Yahoo Business management area).
–Any suggestions? I am desperate to get my blog functional again.
–Thank you very much. Drew Capuder; [email protected]

when renamed the plugin folder did you create a blank plugin folder.

The other thing you can try is to rename your theme and force twenty ten to open.

By the way your website opened fine here

Yes, I created a blank plugin folder when I renamed the prior one. That is part of what is puzzling me. I would have thought that would have prevented the plugins from loading, so that the problem would get solved.

When you suggest renaming the theme, is that to say I should rename the folder that the theme is located in?

    Thanks for your suggestions.

No just the theme folder you using at present in wp-content/themes

what this does is change the theme name in database back to twenty ten and force the default theme to open.

Thanks very much. I’ll rename the theme folder this evening at home when I have more time. Thanks again.

lets us know if this solves your problem

I renamed the theme folder for the theme I am using, and it did not fix the problem. I renamed the following folder which contains the theme I use:
    /wp-content/themes/adclerum
I renamed the folder to x_adclerum.
Actually, my problem is now worse. Before, my home page of my blog would at least appear, but now it won’t.
–Any further suggestions? Thanks very much.

Once you renamed the theme your twenty ten theme should have opened so that we can rule out a theme problem.

what do you have as plugin folder is still that blank folder.

I’m not sure what you mean by this sentence: “what do you have as plugin folder is still that blank folder.” I still have the original plugin folder renamed as “plugins.hold”, and I created a new folder names “plugins” and that is completely blank.
–Thanks very much for your responses.

    Yes I do.

I just can not understand why your wordpress does come back by renaming theme and reset plugin as 90% they conflict when give a blank page.

Any way there is lengthy post by James here on what needs to be done when you have problem similar to yours.
