    Don’t bump your posts please.

What settings were you messing with?

You may need to revert to the default (twenty-ten) theme by deleting the theme you’re currently using. I would back it up first.

I was trying to post the other links I used to log in, but it didn’t post, wasn’t trying to bump my post, sorry.

Before the blog disappeared, I was in theme functions.php, though I did not change anything (since I know nothing about it). I just pressed update file then the blank screen appeared on it’s stead. I cannot access ANY controls for the blog since it will not even take me to my admin log in. (The theme I had was intrepedity.) I am really at a loss at how to recover my blog, even just the admin page/controls.

Okay, revert back to the default theme.

Log in via FTP or SSH. Download to YOUR computer the theme folder you were using. Delete the old theme off your server.

You should be able to get back in.

Well – there is another problem. It happened also to me: the screen turning blank. My provider blamed skype:

    see: https://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=101149

But to me that did not make sense, since I always have skype open. The most recent change I made on my computer was installing ICQ. But I cannot see any relation between that and my problem.

The theme change did not fix my problem. Instead of checking all the sourcecode, I finally wiped off WP totally and reinstalled.

I think somewhere is a real bug – but I cannot solve it.

How could skype unasked make changes that destroy a whole site?

By the way: I use PLESKas backoffice.

One more suggestion: maybe skype or other programms can write to the sql file and change settings??? Trough what app?
Can it be a bug in the theme clean-home that I used?

Johannes60: Don’t highjack another poster’s thread. Please post a new topic.

OK – will do, but thought might be helpfull identifying cause.

@ Johannes60 — It’s not skype. It cannot possibly be skype unless your computer has the most insanely specific virus known to man. Your hosting provider are wrong. I would dare say they’re idiots.

@johannes60 Skype plugins for your web browser have absolutely nothing to do with your web page. two separate things.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. I have not downloaded any new programs recently, since I started working on my blog.

I have downloaded Filezilla, but is asking for server address & password. How do I know/find that? I tried my blog sign-in, but did not work…

PS: I have trashed the old theme and downloading twenty-ten now….

Filezilla wants the user name and password to your server. When you signed up for your site, your host gave you and ID and password, right? Use that. And check their knowledge base for directions on how to FTP. They should have something.

    Thanks! I think I might’ve found it ??

    Thanks a billion!!

    i my site also disappear.
    my site is https://www.lorenzocicetti.com

what can i do since i can’t go in the dashboard?

which files or folder i have to remove through filezilla?

    thanks a lot

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

And next time, please post a new topic.
