    Hi,
Please help. We were given a website by a webhost/aquaintance who set us up with this blog on WordPress, and gave us the user name and passcode to make any personal changes we wanted. For some reason, out of the blue, our blog is gone. When we go into it, we get this message: “We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the iexpsoft_wrdp1 database”

What happened? Did our webhost ditch us? Because he is not answering our emails. I ended up registering here myself, using the same user name he gave us, and guess what? It was available! Please help!
    Thank you!

Fortunately, we have absolutely nothing to do with your web host, so that username being available here really doesn’t mean much beyond you’re new here at the WP support forums.

You definitely want to talk to your host — and the friend who donated the space. Make sure the friend paid his bills…

I agree, it sounds like you might want to do some checking. Can you get into your C-Panel to check the database? If you can get into the c-panel, then it just may be something simple…otherwise, it’s prob not.
