My blog won't work with any apps other than wordpress app

I am trying to write my blog on my ipad (ios 7) and it is not working with any apps other than the official wordpress app. I have limited experience with coding, and the official app requires that you add code for simple things like centering text. I know that I can login to my dashboard through the web browser, but that’s not the best experience on the ipad and I don’t like logging into accounts when I’m on public wifi.

I downloaded BlogPad Pro for ipad. I was able to get the blog connected, but my posts won’t download and I can’t upload anything. I get messages saying that the “blog is unreachable” and that the session has timed out”. I went into the blogpad settings and increased the timeout time from 15 seconds to the max of 30. Then I hit sync again and get the same message.

So, I downloaded Posts and I get timeout messages with that app too. I contacted support for Blogpad and they gave me a series of suggestions, all concerning tweaks in the app. I also contacted my web host, DreamHost, and they made sure that everything was technically fine with my blog. I can log into my blog and post, so I know that it’s working.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Can you tell me what I need to fix or at least point me in the right direction?
