My domain name is registered to a Domainit customer

  • Hi. I’m a first-time website builder, on a very steep learning curve.

    I’ve just installed WordPress at Blue Host. During the process, I had a screen that said, ‘Oops, your domain is not currently pointing to your host, so we will use your temporary domain’. Not knowing what that meant, I just carried on regardless in the hope that all would become clear.

    What it turns out to be is, I have already registered my domain name with Domainit. I need to be able to allow WordPress/BlueHost to use that domain name.

    How do I do this?

  • You need to contact your domain registrars and your hosts to discuss how you can point your domain name to your new WordPress site.

    Ah. I don’t need to transfer the domain name, I can point to it? that makes sense, as I am the one entitled to use the name.
