• Hi Chouby!

I thought I’d give your plugin a try. My main reason for that is speed. WPML is slow and your plugin is very fast! Hats of for that!

I have imported my WPML data with your WPML to Polylang plugin. So far no problems.

After that, I noticed that my homepage (woocommerce shop page)…

… Would only display in English (language switch had no effect)
… All products appear twice (one for every language)
… Shopping cart is only partially translated. It was completely translated with WPML.
… My revolution slider say there are no slides available, while they where translated with WPML.

I really want to give your plugin a go, as WPML is causing more and more issues with every update with either Avada, Woocommerce or their own plugins. And it’s super slow!

Do you think we are able to overcome the problems noticed above? I’d be super happy if I can ditch WPML forever ??

    Hi!

Although it’s in my plans, I did not start working on woocommerce. So it is likely that not everything is working as expected.

    Bonjour,

We built a website with polylang in the past but now the client wants a woocommerce plugin. What to do ?

    thank you
    pierre

I’ve being having the same issues with WooCommerces as Marcoevich stated above.
It would be really great if the plugin worked seamless with WooCommerce.

    Thanks for the great plugin.

I did not start yet and I have no idea of how much time it will take.

    Hi Chouby,

Thank you for your answer !

Can you leave us a note here when you start working on woocommerce? I can testdrive early versions and provide feedback for you if you’d like to.

    +1

That be great, WPML + woocommerce just to slow!.

let us know how its going, is it up on github ? .

    Hi everyone,

I’m a fan of your plugin Chouby and i use also Woocommerce but, even we can translate everything (products, variants, cart, checkout…), i can’t use it with Woocommerce because it doesn’t sync stocks.

Do you know if someone had ever develop a plugin (or a code snippet) to sync stocks between differents languages of a product ?
It could be the same process that syncing custom fields (working on products).

We could help you Chouby (by issues and PR on Github) to develop compatibility between Polylang and Woocommerce.

Have a nice day to everyone !

To everyone in this thread, look what I just found:

    Woocommerce Polylang integration: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-polylang-integration/

@chouby, this plugin is new! Maybe this is a good moment to contact the author and join development to make it even better!

I’ll start testing this plugin right now.

    Hi everyone,

I’ve tried the above mentioned plugin Woocommerce Polylang integration too, but nothing has really changed after its installation.

Anyone has another suggestions? thank you!

No you’re right. The plugin doesn’t work very well.

I had a quick look at this plugin and it looks like it is mainly based on the code I proposed in a support topic more than one year ago ??

Yes I planned to work on Woocommerce in the future. But Woocommerce is half the size of WordPress itself and so you should understand that there are many things to do and it will take time.

Chouby, you might wanna have a look at this plugin: https://wptavern.com/wpglobus-plugin-adds-a-language-switcher-to-wordpress

They are starting from scratch with a new translator plugin, and they will add a woocommerce translate option very soon: https://www.wpglobus.com/progress/version-1-0-0-beta/

They plan to create a very lightweight plugin like yours. Their code is publicly available on Github. Maybe interesting to follow the progress their woocommerce plugin ??

    (@chouby)

I am already aware of it, as well as at least 25 other multilingual plugins ??

This one, although written from scratch is a qtranslate like plugin, meaning that all languages of your post are stored in one unique DB entry, whereas Polylang uses one post per language.

Both plugins use very different approaches and so there probably no possibility that one benefits from the other.

Hey @chouby , @marcovich , I have just started the development of a plugin which will integrate woocommerce and polylang . and it is not something similar to what was proposed in this forum.

Please give it a try , and support me with feedback , so we could found a real working solution

It is still in development but it contains something new , and the code is clean and good commented .

@chouby I hope if we can work togther to develop this plugin further

Here is the plugin reopo linK : https://github.com/hyyan/woo-poly-integration
