• The site is basically a Chinese food restaurant database/directory with restaurant info, pics, reviews and coupons. Currently I’m starting in New York, and if it does well, hopefully expand further.

I’m trying to keep the site simple, but I know I still have a way to go in terms of design and layout. That I am going to have to work on.

Let me know what you guys think!

    Thanks!

  • Your site is very nice. I want to design a website like [link moderated] with wordpress. I hope to be succesful.

It looks nice, it would be good if you add geo-targeting so it automatically shows the nearest takeaways.

Also, I personally would think it was better if you fix the width of the map to a specific size rather than just the full width, and then you can add sidebar widgets or menus.

Any chance you could check out mine I have just made, it’s still in beta mode?

I posted a thread about five hours ago and not one person has replied.

Would be great if you could return the favour ??

    I’m using a laptop.

My mouse is on this text, ” Food? Chinese! Your Source for Weekly Coupons, Menus and Restaurant Info, and More!
    To locate your chinese restaurant..I”.

I scroll down the page using my touch pad.

I get to the map and zoom out.

I’m stuck in a battle between zooming in and out, and scrolling down your webpage.

Is there a reason why you need to zoom out on the map?

    Thanks for the replies!

Portal- Thanks! A site with that kind of page structure does seem possible using wordpress, though it might be a bit database heavy but I can’t be certain as it’s not in english.

Sam- The map does have geolocation, it’s the circle in the top right. I don’t think that there’s a way to have it set automatically, as it would require permission to share the location. Though that would be neat =d. Initially I was thinking about having it as a set width, but it just didn’t look right with the rest of the screen. I don’t know, maybe I’ll get to adjusting that, thanks for the feedback! I left some on your page too, nice use of clean and simple design!

Andrew- That’s certainly a very good point I hadn’t yet thought about. There really is no need to have it zoom out past a certain limit. I’ll definitely look into that, thanks for the suggestion!
