    I have a form through the WordPress-theme Enfold.

    I just set up Post SMTP and tried sending a test mail through the form to make sure it works, but this is where I encounter a very odd issue.
    When filling out the “email”-field in the form with my gmail-address, it gets marked as spam and never gets delivered. When I instead fill out the form with another gmail-address, or some random made up address (for example [email protected]) it works fine.

    The question is why my gmail address gets marked as spam by Post SMTP? As soon as I disable the plugin, it works.

    If anyone has a solution – please help me. I would be very happy to sort this out and get to know why this happens!

    I noticed something more odd now. I tried random combinations of my gmail-address (what comes before “@gmail.com”) and noticed that it is the digits (“93”) in the end of my gmail address that causes it to be marked as spam. If I change them to for example “83” it also gets marked as spam, and if I remove the digits entirely it gets delivered.

    I tried adding digits to non-gmail addresses, and that works.

    tl;dr
    If the mail that is filled in the form is a gmail/hotmail address containing digits right before the @-symbol, it gets marked as spam.

    @dwahlgren Hi,

    Hope you are doing good.

    Thanks for the update, let me reproduce this issue.

    Let me know, your issue is resolved? after removing digits our plugin is working fine now?

    @haseeb0001 Hey,

    I’m good, thanks. Hope the same about you!

    No, it is not resolved.
    Removing digits from the mail address you type in is not an option, since your mail address might actually contain digits, right before the @ like mine, and therefore has to be filled in. The only way to resolve the issue is to deactivate the plugin. Not typing in your full email address just because it’s containing digits in the end is not a solution.
    Do you understand what I mean, or do you need to get some examples?

    I also encountered this issue with ContactForm 7. Deactivating Post SMTP works there as well.

    I am unable to reproduce this issue on my staging website, can share the Diagnostic test report here so then I will look into it again.

    Thanks

    @dwahlgren I have discussed it with my team, Sometimes WordPress emails go to spam even after you’ve set up POST SMTP. This is almost always caused by incorrect DNS settings at your domain. Your email provider may need you to set up SPF, DMARC, and DKIM records to authenticate your WordPress emails. Please check this issue with your hosting providers.

    Thanks
