I have this site setup to block any wrong users and also any more then 4 wrong passwords. The IP address this hacker is using is also showing up as my ip address, which it is not my ip. But when it bans the IP, it bans me. I have called my ISP and they say the ip your system is showing up on this site https://www.loyaltreeservices.com/ is not my ip. I do not know what to do.

    IP Country Block Count
    207.246.240.98 United States 25
    207.246.240.107 United States 10
    207.246.240.106 United States 8
    207.246.240.105 United States 5

Those are not my IP and I get blocked when they are banned.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @sotb0rlando,

The IP addresses 207.246.240.98, 207.246.240.107, 207.246.240.106, and 207.246.240.105 are all load-balancers for liquidweb.com (which is your hosting provider).

This indicates that the setting within Wordfence -> All Options -> How does Wordfence get IPs, is misconfigured.

    Can you try this?

    1. Go to Wordfence -> All Options
    2. Under How does Wordfence get IPs, cycle through the different options until Your IP with this setting becomes your IP address
    3. Save Changes

Your IP address can be found here: https://www.google.com/search?q=what+is+my+ip

thank you. that did the trick. so when I setup WF and I am using liquidweb. I sould always use that setting?

    Hi again,

I’m not sure if all the server types LiquidWeb offers comes with a load balancer, that will be something you’ll need to check every time you setup Wordfence on a new server.

Wordfence does attempt to detect your server (for example if it’s behind Cloudflare), however in your case it wasn’t able to determine that your site was behind a load balancer.

    Hi @sotb0rlando,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’ve gone ahead and marked this thread as resolved.

Please feel free to open another thread if you’re still having issues with Wordfence.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald
