my pages look like posts

    I am using the FallSeason theme and have only only page template (that I know of anyway) page.php When I “write page” from the admin my page has time & date, comments etc and looks like a post. I want to eliminate all the post stuff.. I’ve tried going into the page.php file and wiping out what I think I should but end up with errors… can any one tell me exactly what code to delete? I’ve tried the author, no response ??

    I just did a line at a time and think I’d fudged it… I still would like to know if there is a way to change the title of a page any not have the entire title show in the navigation bar. I do not mean that it not show at all, just that I need something shorter than full title in the nav bar. Thanks
