My posts aren’t lineing up Right !

For some reason my posts have a huge gap at the top of the post until the first HEADER is introduced in the post. This happends in every post .. i was wondering where do I have to to fix this probelm and is it a padding problem? Also, within the post if you look left to rigtht you see the text inside the post are relitively close the to sides is there any way to add some padding or a margin to either side.
