My posts page is displaying my static home page.

  • I have followed the wordpress making a static homepage. But whatever i do my “news/post”, (which does not have a template) page displays my “home content” which has a custom template of “home”. the home is a custom loop pulling 1 category. My index.php and my “news” page both pull the standard WP loop. But it still wants to show home for some reason.

    When you created the regular home page, did you create a specific page template to get the look you wanted??

    Did you use the same page template?? if so, thats likely what is happening.

    When you go to edit the news page, on the right side you will see “choose page template” in there choose default

    That MAY help, but i cant say for sure because I dont know how you designed your pages

    I did use a template for the home and named it “Home”. But in the codex it says to not use a template for creating that “post” page so i would assume it would pull from index.php, which has a standare WP loop. Not the custom loop i used on home
