First of all I’d like to say, the new look on the grid view is AWESOME! I love the improvement. And that you can now see the title of the event in grid view. THANK YOU!

For those who are frustrated at the change, good news is it doesn’t take long to fix. Here is what I did:

    1. To fix the date/timezone issue, I just created a new calendar in the calendars menu with the same settings as my old ones. Change the colors to match your theme in this screen.

    2. Get the new shortcode for the new calendar you created and paste them into the page where you display your calendar in place of the old short code.

    3. Adjust your styles.css file to tweek any background colors. I deleted all my old gce styles and only had to make new styles for the background of the day headings in grid view and the background of the hover on days. You can see it at https://www.ucachurch.org and see the CSS by looking at the source code in your browser.

Thanks SIMPLE CALENDAR for the nice new look. And I’m displaying the “powered by Simple Calendar” link for ya!

Thanks for posting your solution. My comments that follow are meant for the developers, rather than for someone like you who is posting a solution to their problem.

The solution sounds simple enough, but not much use to volunteer organizations like ours who have to maintain a website previously set up by a developer and who don’t have a budget to hire someone to fix the problem. What’s a styles.css? Where do I find it? How do I find the right code to delete? How do I make a new style? Why wasn’t the stuff from the previous plug-in deleted during uninstall? This is supposed to be a “plug-in” which means to me that it should work out of the box. Especially when we received several emails encouraging us to update to the new version.

Sure hope the developers see this rant. They have totally ignored my posts for help, even though I was told to post on this site to get support.

Just to let you know, I was able to change the background color of the bubble (tooltip) so that the text is visible. It only took me a whole day to do it. Looked at Jon’s calendar on the website. Looks very nice. Wish I had a clue how to change the header colors like that.

Thanks for the kind words, glad you like the new plugin!

We are not ignoring you. We have a lot of support requests coming in right now so I apologize for the delay.

This is directly in the plugin settings under appearance. You can change the colors there.

Unfortunately, the plugin settings only allow you to change the colors for “today” and “days with events”, not the background color of the bar with the dates.
