My Sidebar is not on the right but down…

I think the problem is </divs>

Open footer.php
Find </body>
and just before that put </div>

See if that helps?

try making the width of your sidebar smaller.

I’m having a comparable issue. Just installed, using default and my sidebar is way at the bottom on the right instead of staying top right. How do I fix that?

In your sidebar.php of your theme file – you’ve made some modification and left out the closing for your <div>.
Near the end look where you need a </div>.

I’ve never done anything with HTML in my life.

Now I have for the first time–to no avail, and it scares me to mess with this. Please talk to me like a 4-year-old. Seriously.

Here’s what I did: Administration/Presentation/Theme Editor/Sidebar.

The first line I see there in the HTML code starts with <div>

So I just cut and pasted your </div> at the end of that first line. It’s still there (apparently you’re able to somehow see that–I can’t imagine how!). No change in where my sidebar is located, though.

When I go to the end of all of that code I see that a </div> is already there at the end of the file.

So what do I need to do (4-year-old steps, please). By the way, I had done NOTHING to make “some modification”, as you speculated. All I’ve done from the default of the theme was delete the “Blogroll”.

Yikes–I just changed my theme for the first time from “default” to “classic” and I notice that the very last post on the page stops after the Title to the post, but there is no post nor any link to “Previous Entries” so that a person can look back at earlier posts (yet the sidebar was where it is SUPPOSED to be at top right!). How does one fix that horrible page split if I end up changing themes sometime?!!

Around where you deleted the blogroll apparently you still have a <div> without the </div>.
In this case, you probably need to just remove the <div> as extraneous.

That’s where my sidebar code is. I didn’t use the Theme Editor to delete the blogroll. I used some page in Administration–don’t recall what it was…

Here is a small piece of help I need, I have customised the archieve page a little, now I want my side bar to be displayed over there when I try to do so, the sidebar goes bottom.

When I add at top below header function, it does display but shows a different post.

I just want Sidebar to be accessible all through the site no matter pages, posts, archeives anything, I just wannna see the side everywhere, any suggestions ?

Yikes! That didn’t do it. I’ve left up how it appears after putting in your code. Still bottom right and appears to have shifted over to the right a space or two.

P.S. And what about that issue of when I changed to “classic” theme and–while the sidebar was now top right like it should be–the page ended right after a header and there’s no link to previous pages…?

jerry, you’ve got some comments in your index file that are hiding some code. Do you have a google ad plugin running or something in post 2006 Edgar Award Winners Announced: <!-- commented out ad</p> You need to make sure that comment is closed in the post, or where ever it’s at. Your issues should go away.
