I’m not sure how this happened or how I can resolve this, but I just went to check in on my site using Safari and was greeted with:

Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer
The website you are visiting appears to contain malware. Malware us a malicious software that may harm your computer or oherwise operate without your consent. Your computer can be infected just by browsing to a site with malware, without any further action on your part.

–I’m not sure how to do this next suggested step–

Can anybody guide me a little here? Not sure how to resolve this..

Hi Michael,

It looks like your website has been compromised. “Normally” this virus code copies itself in all index.php pages but again depending on code type, it could be any file.

@wpyogi gave a great list of links to get website cleaned. But if you are not pro, my humble honest opinion will be to get professional help.

Edit:

https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/scanner/ is a great tool, it’ll tell you exact files which are infected after you perform a scan, you may remove infected code from the files then.

Thanks OctalDigital. I just ran a scan and found no issues. It is unusual that I only encounter a warning message when I use Safari? Other browsers seem to load the site without any issues/warnings.

Yes I checked your site with https://sucuri.net/ its clean but it doesn’t mean that your website is free to malware. Yes website has a black hole exploit kit. First step scan your computer if your desktop has a malware. 2nd secure your FTP and change your password. and 3rd look at your php files and search for “base64_decode” or “eval” the code longer pretty then removes that code.

Oh forgot to say you can find the code in any PHP files, plugins, cs’s, directories etc. or if you have .htaccess look at the string. If you access your WordPress admin you can install exploit scanner https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/exploit-scanner/. That plugin will scan the malware strings
