I recently upgraded to version 3.4 and it has cost me thousands and thousands of views. When I post an article, it is also linked on a third party partner site which gets my site lots of views. Part of the package is that when my link is clicked on their site, ours appears in a frame. We still get the pageview and the reader gets the content they wanted. Since my upgrade, readers have been greeted with a blank page within the frame. The answer to my problem seems to be here but there is one glaring difference. I can’t find the file name that I’m supposed to remove. I’m wondering if 3.4 is different altogether? Please help.

I looked at that link, editing a core file like that is a horrible solution and is the wrong way to go about it.

Can you share a link to illustrate what you are referring to? WordPress software doesn’t do that.

In the meanwhile, give these a try.

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

Also consider giving this a good read too.

OK, I didn’t know if it was alright to link my site here, but I’ll give an example. Here is a direct link to a post on my site Silver and Black Daily When it’s posted, Fox Sports will link it on it’s site. Right here is a link to the same post from Fox Sports right here you’ll notice that there is a top banner and the site is supposed to show up in the frame below, but all we get is a blank page.

I’ve always thought iframes were goofy, if an accepted way to embed another page…

Check the logs on your web server. I think something is rejecting the request being in the iframe.

I visited the Fox Sports link and replicated the <iframe> that they use.

Putting your site in my iframe came up blank. Putting my site in an iframe did appear though, and after I made the iframe width="100%" height="100%" then it sized better.

Try disabling all of your plugins and switch to Twenty Eleven and then visit the Fox Sports again. If the page shows up then switch back to your theme, test, activate one plugin, test, etc.

That should hopefully tell you what’s going on.

Jan, thank you very much for your assistance. I went through these steps and it looks like the problem has been resolved. It looks as if one of the plugins called “Theme My Login” was somehow responsible. I used the process of elimination and that’s the only plugin that caused the problem when activated.

I can only assume that it was updated recently and that’s when I began to have this issue. The problem has persisted for about a week. I know I’ve updated plugins during that past couple of weeks, although I couldn’t tell you for certain which ones since I don’t generally pay attention to the updates, I just do them automatically.

Once again, thank you for your help.
