• I’m trying to change the favicon on my site, but the My Site Identity is missing. I went to Appearance and customize, and it isn’t there.

Is there something special I have to do so it will show up. Or is there another way to change the favicon.

I’m on the newest version of WordPress, and I’m the only user.

  • If you have changed it under Appearance → Customize in the Site Identity section and it is not showing up I’d suggest looking at your theme specific settings. Some theme’s move the fav icon option into their custom options panel. I’d suggest contacting the developer of your theme for support.

Another option would be to upload a file to your root wp directory called favicon.ico.

    Hope this helps

    SOLVED:

Don’t worry, it’s not missing. It probably has to do with the theme you have installed.

I had the same problem, and this solution worked for me:

CUSTOMIZE -> HEADER -> SITE IDENTITY

    or

CUSTOMIZE -> HEADER BUILDER -> under the tab ”General” click LOGO -> scroll down.

    that’s it ??

I have to log on to say thank-you to you. I was lost, too.

Thank you – mine was under

Appearance –> Customize –> Core –> Site Identity
