My site is gone, after changing general settings

keesiemeijer, thanks so much for your quick reply, i have read through the article, however I am totally lost, and i guess very much in shock that the site is “gone”

I am so freaked out after this whole incident that i am worried to make any changes for fear it will only make it worse. I have teamviewer is there anyway that you can have a look for me?

and that is where i keep getting directed to when i try to log into the dashboard…. ?? it loops me back to the old (live site)

I have tried all the steps, however nothing has worked ??

So you can use ftp to edit and upload files?

I have used the ftp to change the files with the instructions on

I have been struggling with this for 4 hours now…

Do you not perhaphs have teamviewer?

Start by removing the .htaccess password on the site so we can see it. Otherwise, you may have to consider hiring someone to sort this out for you.

how do i find the htaccess password? ??
i actually feel physically ill from all the stress.

It’s probably in the root of your domain. You need to use FTP or use whatever file management application your host provides but ensure that whatever you use, it is configured to show all files as .htaccess files are often hidden by default.

The easiest way to do this would be to first set your custom permalinks back to default and then delete or rename your root .htaccess file.

ok i have removed it, does it help give you acess to the site now?

Nope – try looking in the site sub-folder.

Do you have teamviewr Esmi? it would be awesome if you could just remote access my pc right now?
