My site is live and it’s not ready! How do I undo this?

    I am still building the concept of my site and no where near ready to be live, yet it seems that I am. I’ve looked up how to fix this on a google search but all the info out there must be old because I can find no way to make the site private or go back to a “coming soon” status.

    I’ve followed instructions from 3 different random sites and am desperately hoping this will be more fruitful. Thanks in advance, I’ll be over here crossing fingers.

  • WordPress sites are “live” or public by default. There’s no built-in setting to make a site under construction private.

    If your hosting provider does not provide any way to make the site private, then you’ll need to install one of the many “under construction” or “coming soon” plugins: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/under+construction/

    Thank you all!! First timer here on WordPress and I had no idea I would need a plugin for a coming soon message! Great simple fix, I appreciate the help so much!!
