My Site Is Really Slow…

  • Hello,

    My WordPress site is horribly slow. This includes the actual website AND dashboard.

    I have contacted the hosting company, Dreamhost, and they have advised that it looks like I am going over the allocated memory allowed on a shared server but it’s not been an issue for the past 6 months and I have not done anything new to the designs and have not added any new plugins. So not sure what is going on?

    I am freaking out as it’s completely frozen and I can’t get any work done. Also, saving an update can sometimes take several minutes. And in addition to taking forever to save and update, sometimes it won’t update at all like a product I have on my shop that I am trying to put in draft and still appears visible in the shop.

  • Hi, Ricki. I’m the volunteer who addressed your login issue, so I may as well address this 1 as well.

    Since I now know you use DreamHost, let me make a couple suggestions. First, your CPanel will have an error log. Is the site throwing any errors? Also, there may well be error logs in your public_html folder as well as in folders for various plugins or themes. These can also give some indication where the problem might lie. Do you have any errors in these logs around the time the problem started?
