My site is running horribly slow. Why?

  • My woocommerce wordpress site https://skichdesigns.com is suddenly running horribly slow. Sometimes not loading at all. If it loads all the way it takes 15-20 minutes. I’ve changed absolutely nothing! Everything was working fine a couple days ago. The last thing I remember was receiving an email saying the site has been updated to 4.0.1.
    All the other wordpress sites on my server is running effeciently. So I don’t believe its a server issue. I don;t have a clue as to what the issue can be. Can someone please help and point me to the direction of rectifying this issue?

  • I have exactly the same problem driving me nuts. Nothing changed during last 30 days, only remember receiving an email saying the site updated to 4.0.1
    Also here, all other wordpress sites working fine, even others with same theme.

    Same issue on my site. Infuriatingly slow site in recent days. Additionally as of today I can’t even log in on my own site in order to add or do housecleaning on the site. Need help! Thanks in advance for any insight.

    Forgot to mention that when a page fails to load the message displayed is: “This page cannot be displayed.”

    deactivate plugins, reactivate 1 by 1
    temporarily change to theme like twentytwelve

    do you think there might be some malware interfering? run a site check

    It s wordpress update issue. Many people have same problem. My websites are same. I deactived all my plugins the problem is still there. And also i talked with hostings they checked it up as they say its upgrade issue and your theme is not compatible with new version of wordpress.

    contentiskey is not even possible to access wp-admin.
    Takes 5min admincp to open and then hangs.

    Deterjan, the problem is when you try to downgrade wordpress version, it doesn’t work. It should be easy, but something is making in dificult.
    Try downgrading your wordpress to see if works. For me it didnt.

    ? talked with my hosting company and they say in this update not only your files updated but also your database updated. So it makes sense it doesnt matter weather you change your file or downgrade it if database updated !

    But then if you downgrade and also have a dump saved from your database, if you import that database it should work..

    In fact i didnt have any problem untill i have updated and as soon as i updated some of my website been slow and also i downgrade it and nothing changed my hosting says wordpress update database as well and that s why your theme is not compatible with new version of wordpress and i clearly say this is update issue.

    have you got the social.png file in theme folder?

    My problem is solved by hosting. This is related btw wordpress and hosting compatible. My webhosting made a process and now all site went normal.

    Exactly the same here. Suddenly everything is back to normal on those sites. Maybe we are on the same servers.

    @ttt, you right! Ironic how things are back intact. I didnt do anything… I just dont want it to re-surface…
