• Hi
Here is my wordpress site https://design-vision.tn
I didn’t yet import real content, but as you can see, it is really slow and I want to get it faster, I tried caching plugins, gzip compression, but this didn’t improve anything, the server takes too much time to respond, I asked the hosting technical and they told me to buy CDN to make the website faster, but I hesitate because maybe slowness is due to server ressources that are not enough, the server has 1 Vcore as CPU and 512M as RAM, I don’t know if I should buy a CDN or migrate to 2vcore- 1G RAM server ?

  • The server you are on has less that 300 users. You shouldn’t be having this problem. You do have some javascript errors which may be the reason for slow loading.

superfish.min.js:10 Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
supersubs.js:91 Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
design-vision.tn/:69 Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined

Thank you for reporting these js errors, I managed to fix them, the site is still pretty slow though, is it supposed to be faster with my current server config ?

I don’t know about servers but I added a key word and maybe someone will pickup on it.

I think the reason it is slow loading is the size of the graphics. They can be a lot smaller and still look as good. Your first image is 835k. You should be able to bring that down to below 20k. The next image is 884k which could come down to less than 30k.

Does your graphic program give you a choice while saving a jpeg? Maybe maximum, large, small etc.?

It looks like the connection time is pretty poor as well for initially getting the site to load, wait time of over 6 seconds alone.

kmessinger I don’t see any image of 800K, the biggest one size is 100k, it can be certainly optimized but it can’t be the reason of that slowness as coreyhammond mentions it’s the server that takes too much time to load the site.
