My site isn’t appearing completely and I’m unable to login on my WordPress dashboards. When I want to login this error message comes – ERROR: An error was encountered while trying to authenticate. Please try again.

    What can I do?

    Please help me.

  • to be able to answer this correctly, we need a bit more information:

    1. are you using any security plugins (captcha/wordfence etc.)?
    2. do you have access to your cpanel/ftp client?

This error can occur when there is a compatibility issue with a security plugin, and you need to be able to modify the files without accessing your WP Dashboard (hence the need for cPanel or FTP client).

I also note that your website shows mixed content for ssl. You will need to fix this asap.

I’m using WordFence and I have access to the Cpanel.

How can I fix the Asap?

    try the following:

login to cPanel and locate the WordFence plugin (File manager >> the domain >> wp-content >> plugins)

    Rename the wordfence directory.

Try and log in to your WordPress website.

Once you have logged in to your WordPress admin you can name the folder back again.

Next, go to the Wordfence plugin settings in your wordpress dashboard and change the setting that caused you to be locked out.

log out and then try to log back in.

    – please note: if this isn’t the cause of the issue, remember to change the wordfence plugin folder name within your cPanel.

After renaming the Wordefence file still I’m unable to login on WordPress dashboard.

    Can you help me more?

have you really renamed the whole folder? because you mentioned “file” the whole folder needs to be renamed, so WordPress doesn’t load the plugin.

try this with each and every plugin you have installed. there are other plugins causing problems.

If this doesn’t help, try the forgot password function, if you still have access to the e-mail account.

there are also other ways to reset the password, which are explained here:

    Hey,

Thank you all for listening to me and thanks for the support!

Now my site is fine. The problem was with the SSL on Cloudflare.

    Again thanks!

    Keep supporting!

    Love!
