• Hi,

After several years without any indexing problems, it seems that Google without any warning un-indexed most of my client’s site! Out of a site of 254 posts and 16 pages, only one page and 5 posts appear now when searching for site:Marianna.ruahmidbar.com

Again, I want to emphasize that it came out of the blue, without any notification from Google.

In the plugin’s section of my site, no error message appears and it seems that the generated sitemap is fine.

In Google Search Console there’s no indication for a manual action or something else that might indicate the reason why Google suddenly decides to get rid of this site.

1100 elements appear now under “crawled, currently not indexed”… Except for elements that I don’t want to index like feed and tags, a lot of elements (including the home page!!!) appear on this list. Again, this has never happened before!

When I clicked on some of these items, under Discovery->site maps I see “Temporary processing error” or “No referring sitemap detected”. I don’t know what this means, but I wonder if this is the reason for the major un-indexing of this site.

Please advice. I would be grateful for any input!

    Hello @gad123,

Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear that Google removed your client’s site from search results. Accordinng to Google’s documentation, “Crawled?– currently not indexed” means the page was crawled by Google but not indexed. It may or may not be indexed in the future; no need to resubmit this URL for crawling.

Temporary processing error – this doesn’t mean your sitemap has an issue. It could be an issue on Google’s end. Also, the status you see in Google Search Console isn’t real-time

No referring sitemap detected – it means Google detected the page elsewhere and not through the submitted sitemap. The page may have been crawled long before you submitted the sitemap since sitemaps aren’t the only way Google finds pages on your site.

Please read about Google’s core algorithm update and how it may impact your site indexing and ranking.

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for answering my question.

I would like to emphasize that almost my entire site (including the home and /blog pages!!!) have only recently got the status of “crawled, currently not indexed” without any change in content from my side. That gets us back to my original question: what makes Google “lose interest” in my entire site (that was fully indexed up until recently) completely out of the blue without any notice. It seems like a major event so I was sure that security issue was involved, however, at least from Google search console, this theory was disproved…

Do you have any idea what can cause such a catastrophic event, without any notice, or where I should begin my investigation? I am totally clueless…

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi @gad123

‘Crawled-currently not indexed’ can happen for quality issues or due to the lack of relevance of your content to user queries.

I would suggest taking a closer look the content and check how you can improve the quality, relevance and make sure your content reflects E-E-A-T.
