My Status Buttons – Image Not Showing

  • When I select any My Status button in the Settings or Widget area, it shows this text and no button.
    “Call me – my test call
    My status is Error”

    Maybe this is related to the Skype May 15 changes. I also got the email.

    It also shows a small icon which is typical when an image file is missing.

    Until this is fixed, my only option is the “transparent” dropdown, which unfortunately not well branded as a Skype call.

    A suggestion for the Transparent drop down. Provide the option to select which of the drop down changes are available… I frankly don’t want Transfer a file… this is an invitation to Spammers, and Sype Options doesn’t have a settings area to disallow this from “Anyone”

    BTW. Most of the other buttons, including Custom button work fine, but they all have a white background. However, my website footer is dark, so I need buttons with transparent background. I don’t understand why you implemented buttons with a background at all, it really limits usability unless your website background is white.

    Thanks for all your hard work… despite the issues reported, your plugin seems to work better than all the others I’ve tried.

  • Hi mcowtan, I did not implement any buttons at all. These images are provided (and hosted) by Skype, not by me. The plugin was originally designed to only make it easier to add one of the (now legacy) Skype buttons.

    But I’ll take your question as a feature request and consider improving them. It should not be too difficult to do ??

    About your call button not showing, I cannot reproduce that. Could you share a link to your site?

    Since the skype online status server was closed almost two days ago, I’m forced to remove the online status buttons and status messages / functionality within other buttons.

    To remove the “Send me a file” entry within the dropdown button, first select that button theme and save. Then set the Theme to “Custom…” and scroll down to the “Custom Template” field. There you can find the part that is related to the sendfile entry near the end:
