I updated these tables 3 weeks ago but my client says she still sees the old information in it. She already cleared cache on her browser. Actually she sees the same wrong info in both desktop and mobile. What do I need to do? I’m using Safari on latest OS X and latest WP.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Please go to the “Edit” screen of these pages and check whether you are still seeing the Shortcodes for the tables there.
There are some themes, which seem to be replacing the Shortcodes with static (and thus quickly outdated) HTML code for the table.

    Regards,
    Tobias

I have a same kind of problem. I can see the updated table correctly only with one browser (Firefox). The other browsers (Safari and Chrome) and the mobile devices (iPhone, Android) show the before-updating table.
The shortcode is fine, the preview too. I took the shortcode away from the page for couple of days, and put it back, but this didn’t help.

    Hi,

thanks for your email, and sorry for the trouble.

Please check if you are seeing cached pages, e.g. from using external services like Cloudflare.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks for answering so quickly, but I really don’t understand much about Cloudflare. I cleared the cache, history, cookies, etc. on Safari and Chrome (Mac), but this didn’t help.

    Hi,

is your site using Cloudflare or some other network proxy services?

Do the pages with the table’s (on their “Edit” screens) still contain the [table] Shortcodes?

Can you then maybe please try installing and activating this TablePress Extension as a new plugin on your site: https://tablepress.org/download/extension/tablepress-turn-off-output-caching.zip ?

    Regards,
    Tobias

I created an account on Cloudflare after reading your message, but honestly, I don′t have time to take a closer look to all those details and what I should do with them.

The shortcode is okay, has been all the time. Also when I look the preview on TablePress, the updated text looks okay.

However, I tried this solution: I changed the ID of this table and, of course, I also changed the shortcode on the page, and now the updated text is showing on the web page, as well. So, do I have to change the table ID every time I make updates on the table?

I don’t know how to install that extension plug you sent. ??

    Hi,

ok, if you had to create an account on Cloudflare, you were not using it before, which rules out this possible cause. Thus, you don’t have to continue looking on Cloudflare (unless you want to use their services in the future, of course).

Ok, if the ID change worked, I’m guessing that it’s server caching issue. That mentioned TablePress Extension could help then. To install it, please download the ZIP file and then go to “Plugins” -> “Add New” -> “Upload” in your WordPress Dashboard to upload/install it and then activate it there.

The ID change should then not be necessary (and would not be a nice permanent solution anyways).

    Tobias

In my case, I am not using cloudfare.
I had to create another page from scratch and then the problem was solved.
But I still don’t feel comfortable with that because sometimes it behaves like if it was corrupted somehow.
Should I still re-instal the plugin with the version you just suggested?

    Hi Vera,

yes, if you are also still experiencing this, and can rule out any external caching, please try the mentioned TablePress Extension as well.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Like the others here, I have experienced this same issue on two different tables in the past week. I discovered changing the table ID solved the problem. But this also requires changing the ID in the plugin options.

I found your extension this morning and installed it, so I feel confident this will work. I didn’t want to have to adjust table IDs every time I updated them.

    Great plugin, Tobias!

    Hi,

yes, please try the Extension then as well. This issue is likely caused by problems with your site’s wp_options database table then.

    Regards,
    Tobias
