    Hi,

I am attaching a screenshot of my tax settings. There is a state called Las Palmas (GC) whose tax is 0%. I am attaching my checkout where you can see GC. However, I have an order with Las Palmas that has tax. This doesn’t happen normally, but it does happen sometimes. I am testing and it works correctly.

    What is happening?

    Hi there @imillenium,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I understand that you’re experiencing an issue where tax is being applied to orders from Las Palmas (GC) despite your tax settings being set to 0% for this location.

Since you mentioned that this issue occurs sporadically, it might be caused by caching. If you’re using any caching plugins, please try to clear the cache and let us know if it makes any changes. Also, be sure to ask your host to purge any caching from their end.

If the issue persists, please reach out and we’ll be happy to assist you further.

    Hi @ckadenge

That’s right. You have understood me perfectly. I clear the cache normally and my server doesn’t keep cache. I am going to see if the error is repeated.

    Thanks!

    Hi @ckadenge

Unfortunately, the error has occurred again. I am reviewing the erroneous orders and I have come to the conclusion that they have been paid with Paypal.

Could this be the error? Is Paypal including VAT? Do I need to configure Paypal to not include VAT?

    Thanks!!!

    Hey, @imillenium!

    Thanks for the information.

Can you please share with plugin you are using to add PayPal as a payment method?

The reason I’m asking is because if this is only happening with orders paid for with PayPal, it is best to reach out to the support channel of the plugin you use so they can investigate if the issue is coming from them or PayPal directly.

I hope this was clarifying. Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi @carolm29

Thank you for your prompt response. After reviewing several Paypal orders and transactions, I am coming to the conclusion that the customer changes the address in the Paypal window. That address contains a?state that isn’t affected by the tax.

    Thanks!!!
