My Username has changed overnight???

  • Hi there,

    I have been using WordPress for a few years now and have always had the same Username. Today I couldn’t login and it turns out that my Username has been changed. I didn’t even think this was possible?? Is there a way for me to change it back to what it originally was?

    Check via phpMyAdmin to see what’s in the wp_users table. You can also reset admin name, email and password from here as well.

    If your username has changed it is possible that someone has hacked your site. Do install a security plugin once you have restored your username. You may be in for more problems if your site was hacked. Have you made a back up of your site and databases before the username was changed?
