• Hello,

I’m relatively new to this blogging stuff. You can find my weblog here:

    https://www.jowra.de/wp/

The design is made by me, to fit the general design of my site ( https://www.jowra.de ). Originally based on Kubrick, the CSS is now completely rewritten to suit my needs. ?? The theme is not really finished, but websites are never finished, right?

It would be great if any Mac-Users could test my blog (layout), cause I have no access to a mac.

Thanks and greets to all WordPressers. ??

    John

  • Extremely nice! Love it – quiet, contained. Are you releasing it as a theme?

Looks good on a Mac with the latest version of Firefox.

Very nice design, good job jowra!

@vkaryl Thanks you. ?? I think about that. Need to clean up the CSS first and maybe tweak some things.

Thanks Gecko. ?? Firefox ist important and maybe Safari.

Looks very nice an clean. I like it!

If you want a good (free) tool to check your site in Safari on the Mac, check out: https://www.danvine.com/icapture/ (you’ll have to register to use it, but it’s free, and no spam)

On my Mac, Firefox & Explorer look great, but Safari drops the right column down below the content.

    Otherwise, it’s a beautiful design.

    Very nice design!

as soon as I saw your website,
I said ‘WOW’ loudly and my co-worker turned his head towards me ??

Nice, but adding some a:hover in the sidebar wouldn’t hurt ??

Thank you all for the response. I’m happy to here that you like it. ??

Prissed: thanks for the safaritest tip.

Rosie: Hm. I had this problem with IE at windows too and lowered the with of the sidebar. I will check the list of CSS-Safari-Hacks, ’cause I think the problem is the Browser.

Eridan: I think, i’ll add a slightly different color. ??

Again, thanks a lot @ all. Your feedback keeps me working on that theme and releasing it to the community.

    Can’t wait, jowra!

    very nice and soothing site. good balance;
may i inquire as to what you are using for the gallery?

You mean the photolog-like gallery? https://www.jowra.de/fb/

This is done using folderblog. You can get it here: https://folderblog.tetto.org/ A wonderful, little script (~ 20kB), that is totally flexible. All the other galleries for this purpose are to big and overloaded, imho.

On my mainsite I will set up a gallery for my photoshop artwork and larger sets of photos. https://www.jowra.de/cpg/ I’m using the Coppermine Gallery there at the moment. Coppermine is very comfortable, but programmed somewhat quirky and therefore my website-style is hard to adopt at this one. While I’m trying to serve all of my pages in XHTML 1.1, with Coppermine this is nearly impossible. I’m still trying to solve this issue … hmmm.

But for photologs and small galleries have a look at folderblog. It’s small, clear and simple. ??

I’ll second the recommend for folderblog. ??

Design looks nice, the gallery and everything just seem to work well together.
