My website has been extremely slow for almost a year. Please help?

  • I’ve tried almost everything to improve the speed of my page: https://www.consolexp.com/

    Ways I’ve tried fixing the issue:

    1. Calling my host provider didn’t help the issue. They said the problem is not on their end.
    2. Removing plugins (still slow after disabling)
    3. Changing theme.
    4. Installed WP Super Cache
    5. Installed WP Widget Cache
    6. Installed WP Minify
    7. Installed Optimize DB

    So far, nothing has improved the speed of my website. The admin panel is the slowest, it takes nearly 20 seconds to load each page while logged in. It takes nearly 8-10 seconds or more when logged off.

    Please help, I really don’t know what to do.

  • What you just do is ask your host provder to reinstall wordpress cleanly..

    Can you try to upload a normal ~ 50MB zip file to your website and try to download it again? Does it take very long to download when compared to other downloads from other websites?

    If just a file outside WordPress takes longer to download than others, then it is a bandwidth / hosting provider issue.

    First – remove 404 error.

    This image not found – you lost approximately 6 sec.

    Use eg. YSlow and P3 to to check your page …and optimise it.

    Yes, it takes very long. I am guessing iPage is not the best choice for WordPress? I know a lot of people who have this experience with iPage. What do you think is the best hosting for WordPress?

    My domain took 9 seconds to be pulled from the server. It also takes long to connect to my server according to Pingdom Tools.

    I cannot suggest a specific one, but there are many good ones out there. The most obvious are (don’t know if I am supposed to mention these):

    Although we cannot endorse them, there are some hosts listed here. Also searching the forums using the keywords “host” or “hosting” may provide you with some suggestions. However, due to the amount of spam that these topics attract, I’m afraid I will have to close this one.
