    Hello,

My website has been hacked, and I can’t access the wordpress admin. I have a Forbidden Error. I followed several tutorials about fixing the 403 error and none would work. I tried the one telling to remove the .htaccess file. It kind of works and doesn’t at the same time. Let me explain : When I remove the file, the error disappear but then, when you go to the admin page it show the site’s directory.

Am I missing anything, in the fixing steps ?

Your help will be more than welcomed,

    Thank you in advance

  • Yes, your site is showing as hacked…

Question… Are you running Visual Composer? I’m not saying VC caused or allowed the hack but…

I think something has clobbered your theme or possibly the child theme and I see something that makes me think Visual Composer has added some mark up but I could be wrong there.

Anyway, put your htaccess file back. And here’s the link to your login modal right now.

    https://YourDomain.TLD/wp-login.php

    Just add your domain instead.

Once you get in try killing your child theme or switch to a default theme to try to get that site back…

    Then fix the hack…

Carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures and start backing up your site.

Once you’ve fixed the hack then…

Your theme may be a commercial theme from what I could see so you’ll need to restore from a backup or ask the page editor author for help if I’m right about the theme being broken.

    Hope this helps.
