• Hi there, my blog seems to have completely disappeared without a trace. The person who made my blog originally gave me one of her domains and I suspect she has cancelled it since. Please tell me there is a way to get the information back and get it back online?

my www.ads-software.com account also seems to be no more?! I’ve created a new one with the same email address to be able to post this.

the last emails I received for this website about updates was on 23 June 2023.

I haven’t looked at this website in a while and don’t know when it stopped being active but I now desperately need my website back.

    please assist ??

    here are a few ideas:

    • if only the domain name has been cancelled…find out if the webhosting account that contained the content of your website (i.e. database and files) still available or has been completely cancelled
    • check for a previous backup copy of your website -database and files- (maybe you downloaded a backup copy of your website onto your computer that could be used to reconstruct your site)
    • check https://archive.org/web/ to see if a snapshot of your site is included – some of the details might be useful to reconstruct site

note: your www.ads-software.com account to use this forum is separate from your website

I’ve found a glimpse of the website from the way back archive but it’s very incomplete:(it takes a few minutes to load) https://web.archive.org/web/20220108155451/https://learningtobushmechanic.co.za/

it’s not going to be enough to recreate it.

what do you mean by the webhosting account? Is that my WordPress account or the people who hosted the domain? My WordPress account was completely deleted (I tried to access it by logging in and it said there was no account with that email- I double checked it’s the correct email where I’ve been receiving WordPress emails from about the website) I’ve had to make a new one.

I’m not sure who hosted it- but is there a possibility that they will still have my data? And is there a way I can find out?

I also have the link for where I would sign in with admin logins from the emails- but I assume because it’s down I cannot access that page. It says cannot connect with server

    • if you had a self-hosted website using software from www.ads-software.com – then there would have been a webhosting account that contained all of the details about your website. sometimes, the company that handled the domain name also offers webhosting too. ask the person who helped you create the blog if they have the details about the webhosting account and then contact the webhosting company to ask about getting access.
    • if your site was using the WordPress.com service, then you could ask the support team for WordPress.com about your site.

(in this volunteer forum, we do not have access to get inside webhosting accounts.)
