My Website Is Down Because of A Php Editor Mistake

Access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate so that you can access your site again.

Then, replace the customizer.php file with either one from a backup a freshly downloaded copy of that theme.

FTP is provided within your hosting plan. You will need FTP client like Filezilla to perform this task.

Once you have your FTP client, you’ll get your FTP login details from your hosting provider.

Ok. I am finally logged into my FTP using Filezilla. How do I navigate to /wp-content/themes/ so I can delete or edit the theme?

Do you see a folder called public_html or web or http? Open that, you’ll find your site, open wp-content, and open themes. Just like navigating folders on your computer.
