How did you check the redirect? I don’t see that. It just looks like someone else’s website

Once you search for my wordpress website on Google, that is what you get – the link to that medical website

When I visit that website, I see the medical site. It looks like someone else’s website, I see no redirect.

    Hello,
The website indicated is not a wordpress site. It seems your site has been hacked. You can check the file dates using FTP for example to see when the hacking has been executed.

But it displays well when accessed via URL on a browser and i login to admin page perfectly well. The only problem is that when you type the website name on google search, it takes you to that medical website.

No it doesn’t and that’s what we’re saying. Two strangers from opposite sides of the world have now visited that website and we don’t see a redirect from your website, we see the spam website. Clear your cookies and cache, try another browser.

    Hi Andrew,

I think I understand what she is saying when OP says this:

Once you search for my wordpress website on Google, that is what you get – the link to that medical website

That is exactly what is happening to one of my client’s website, and I’m trying to find the cause.

Basically, when you enter the name of the website, Grow Plenty, the first result you get is “Cheap Fast Delivery Viagra: Discount Drugs For Sale”, but below that is https://www.growplenty.com.
    Please see this image

Clicking on that first result’s link, you’ll notice in the address bar that the url is initially https://www.growplenty.com, but then it redirects to “https://tweightpillsonline.com/search.html?key=viagra&t=edconcurent68”

I suspect this exact same thing is happening to OP.

Like OP, when I enter the actual website on the url, there is no redirect and all is well.

It seems there is no clear solution to this?
I’ve done a google search for this problem and there are several wordpress posts, with several responders chiming in, but nothing seemed to have been resolved for those affected.

Will check back and provide an update if I find a solution.

I did not find a solution but I did try this solution which worked on all my wordpress sites:
    Install a plugin Yoast SEO.
Inside the plugin, goto to webmaster tools and click on Google search console.
Then try the recommended method and download the HTML file…Upload this file in root directory of your DOMAIN and verify it.
The name of the downloaded file goognxbxhsbs.html is the verification code which u need to paste in Yoast SEO (Google verification code) without the extension .HTML so the code will be goognxbxhsbs.

Note: this code is an example.do not copy this code.
Hope this will resolve your issue

I just tried what @owaisgilani recommended above with the Yoast plugin and SEO and it worked. I’d already previously done this over a year ago, but I deleted the existing HTML file in my public_html folder and replaced it with a new one and after clearing my cache, I’m not longer have that problem. THanks for the suggestion!

@wodobo has this Yoast plugin continued to work? To me it seems like a patch I am worried it won’t fix the problem. Going to try it but having the same issue.

@nkronck unfortunately it didn’t remain fixed, so I’m not sure what’s going on. If you find out a more permanent fix, please let me know. Thanks in advance. If I find something I’ll let you know as well.

In case anyone is still looking for a solution to this problem, I have just found one!! This is a hack called cloaking, it involves changing what a person sees when they come from a search engine, and you need to edit the .httaccess file on your FTP manager.

For me, all I had to do was delete a few lines from the .httaccess file, re-upload it, and “pronto!” ??

    Here’s the solution from Google:

And this is the original thread where I got the solution from:
