• I transferred a .com/blog site to a regular .com on godaddy.com. I successfully did it and I changed the theme several times (looking for one where I can customizer the header)

After changing the theme unsuccessfully I got the error message below

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘=’, expecting ‘)’ in /home/content/o/c/t/octagon1/html/romulosimoes/wp-content/themes/arras/library/admin/options.php on line 216

the website address is https://www.romulosimoes.com, is this a problem I need to fix on wordpress or godaddy? I presume its a PHP error? HELP!!!!!!!!!!

  • Something is wrong with the code in the theme (perhaps you copied/pasted/cut something into the wrong place for example)…so if you access your site via FTP, just need to replace the page where you changed the code with the original – or you can delete the theme and it will revert back to the default and you’ll be able to get back into wordpress.

Rename your theme folder to something else like
arras-bak using ftp or server than try to go on your website this will force the default theme to open your website if this works then there is problem in theme arras

So just to confirm, if I go into the cp where I uploaded wordpress in godaddy and reloaded the wordpress program, that should overwrite everything in there but the original template which I could then switch to whatever I like?

    Thanks for the help everyone

No your theme will still be there you just renaming your theme so that wordpress will change the theme name in database as it could not find your arras theme since its renamed.

that should overwrite everything in there but the original template

nothing is overwritten everything is same.
