• My home page gets indexed to death, we will
    call it, mydomain.com

but my blog does not get much indexing at all…
    we will call it:

    mydomain.com/blog/

I can pretty much even put crap on grass content on my home page, and it will be indexed within a day or two, but not the blog, hell no. I do select the content, and I do put content on the blog, but nothing, nada, zip. You can actually count the blog indexing on 2 fingers….

Any ideas why my home page gets indexing, but not the blog?
and yes, there is a blog link on my home page to the blog….

at this point, I feel the content that I am putting on the blog; I feel that I am just writing it for me to read, and no one else since nothing is being indexed other then /blog and one tag…thats it.

    Thanks

Did you happen to block search engines on your blog?

You’ve probably tried this but is your blog set to private?

    https://your-blog-url-here/wp-admin/options-privacy.php

Have you tried installing a sitemap plugin?

    https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/search.php?q=google+sitemap

If you register with Google Webmaster Tools and point them to your sitemap.xml file (after you install one of those plugins), that should prompt them to start walking your blog.

    https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/

If they have a problem with your site it should show up there.

Edit: 2 minutes! She beat me by 2 minutes! ??

It tells google to index your site, but it’ll also tell you if something’s wrong and it can’t.

I see the same thing with google. Static pages, category pages and author pages are all picked up and indexed within a week but only one post has been indexed. Co-incidence or not it was one that I +1 ‘d myself. Other than that nothing being picked up. Certainly there are no restrictions for the spiders as I can use the ‘fetch as googlebot’ in webmaster tools and it’s OK.

Got backlinks going to the posts as well. Very strange.

If it is the plus 1 that got the post indexed I would be be pleased to +1 someones posts, for a return favour. ??

On one of my blogs I have noticed silly pages such as About me indexed, but only pages, maybe 1-2 posts out of 50, but yet i noticed the root domain getting indexed.

I am thinking there is an issue with WP, or some SEO WP mod
is maybe causing harm, or not allowing google to index, even
though wp indexing is enabled, something is not right.

I am looking in Webmaster tools, and the crawl rate was super crawling between oct/nov to almost 7000 per day…now the crawl rate is non-existent, pretty much flat lined, and I think that is for the site as a whole, not just the blog, and since crawling has stopped, then it would make since that blog content is not getting indexed; question is why?

other then that, it shows no warnings…

The main site is shut off to registrations, maybe it has crawled as much as it could and stopped? But then again, I still post on the forum and blog, but the crawl rate has declined badly from Nov/Dec, and currently looks like its flat lined…just do not get it…

I setup Article Directory 1 week ago, heck, crawl rate is shooting up like a rocket, and appears to be climbing…

So i have a website that I have had setup for months, a forum even longer, and a blog, which is now flated lined…

and I have a new article directory crawling like hell..duplicate content rocks…

Here is something that I just thought off.

On the domain that has lost crawl, I use linkaloha for automated link building, which I do not use for any other domain, and my domains do not seem to be on a deline other then this one…I thought link building is supposed to help, not kill your domain…

    could that be the problem?

    How often are you posting?

It has been brought to my attention that my site sucks, and I was told my site was nothing but duplicate content. I think google indexed what it could, and left. I have not added anything to the home page, I was adding to the forum and blog which I thought would keep google coming back since it was adding content. I guess that was not good enough.

Duplicate content will hurt you more than a static front page. Panda (Google’s new algorithm) doesn’t like it.

The problem is, my site has no content at all. I think he was refering to the default duplicate titles in each thread…but surely google is smart enough to know to figure this out and would know better…I somewhat do not think this is a major factor; but if you told me that google found nothing more to index, then i would believe that more…

Since there is no content on the site, I think google just ran out of stuff that it wanted to index, and google crawler stopped visiting…

    No content… nothing to index.
