My wp theme has worked great for the past 4 months, without any issues on my long standing Yahoo account.

Then on Monday I started to get random messages that reads, “Internal Server error 500”. I didn’t make any edits to the website before this, so I was confused as to why I had an error. Sometimes the complete site would pop up when I refreshed it. Other times it was a blank white screen with that message (sometimes there wasn’t a message, just a white screen).

So I went into my back office and was able to access my website for about 50% of the time, during that log in. Again, sometimes I would have access to my site, other times it was a blank white screen.

I noticed Yahoo posted a bulletin in my BO that read I should delete the plugin titled:
    wp-cache & wp-db-backup.

So I deleted wp-cache and my whole screen went white. I was never able to delete the wp-db-backup plugin.

Now I cannot access my WP site at all. No back office or webpages. I spent an hour on the phone with Yahoo and they said they can’t help me because WP is a third party therefore I have to go someplace else for assistance. I had backups emailed to me so that is my only saving hope, but other than that, I’m at a loss.

    Thanks for your help.

you can access your plugins via FTP
FTP is connected to your web hosting account
the login credentials are available from Yahoo since they are your webhost

after you can get into your files via FTP
    find the WP Content folder
within that folder is the PLUGINS folder

you can delete problem plugins from that folder without having access to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.

if a plugin is the source of the problem causing the white screen, then removing the plugin is the solution that i have found works to fix.

That didn’t work. But I found out what did:

After I deleted the wp-cache & wp-db-backup I also had to go into my FTP and do this:

Edit my wp-config.php to delete the line:

    define(‘WP_CACHE’, true);

Now my site is backup and I have to add in all my plugins again, but I’m a happy camper. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
