• Hey,

I recently lost my Blog and ended up deleting everything except for the database. I’ve reinstalled WordPress again through Fantastico, but I want to use my old database and start off from where I left. The trouble is, I don’t know my database password to enter into the config.php?

I have my Database and User names just the password i’m not sure how to find.

Can someone tell me how to do this? I have PHPmyAdmin if that would help?

You’ll have to contact your hosting provider about this.

As your host has Fantastico, there should also be a control panel (cPanel for example). From within this control panel, you can set a new password for the DB user.

    Thanks for the replies,

I do have cPanel, but I couldn’t find where to change the password for the users. I had a look in MySQL Databases, but I couldn’t find where. Any tips?

    Cheers!

From within cPanel (MySQL Databases), try to create a new DB user (Add New User) with the SAME name and a new password of your choice. This should (just) change the password for the existing user.
