MySQL errors, but only after half the blog has loaded!
-
Hi,
Since yesterday I am facing a strange error on my WP 2.3 install at https://journal.naveeng.com . First, the blog suddenly started to show “MySQL gone away” errors and nothing was loading, neither the front end nor the admin panel. But after i wrote to godaddy support (my webhost), i got a response that it was fine at their end, and even i could see the blog back this morning.
But this time, after half the blog had loaded, the MySQL gone away” errors are showing now also, but only from a certain point forward in the sidebar! After the BLOGROLL widget, all the widgets and even the footer containing a few widgets and comment section are showing this error. I am at my wits end on what could be the problem. Writing for the second time to godaddy support, they said they are having no connectivity issues with DB server, and cannot help me further since it is a 3rd party script issue.
Also, my admin panel is perfectly fine, with the widgets affected in front end, showing properly in admin panel.
Any pointers on how to track the issue and solve it, would be great. I must add that since past 3 days I have been receiving decent hits on a particular post ( https://journal.naveeng.com/2007/10/17/vanilla-ice-cream-that-puzzled-general-motors/ ) – around 50,000 for this post alone, thanks to stumbleupon – but I’m sure it has nothing to do with the errors.
Eagerly waiting for a reply,
Thanks,
Naveen
