Mysterious Chinese Comments

I updated to the latest version of WordPress and of course updated my plugins as best I could and now I get comments in Chinese that don’t go through Disqus. Some Chinese people are able to leave comments which I can approve or disapprove using WordPress but they never show up in Disqus.

If I view my site without a VPN it will show them from inside China I think. How are these comments getting left if they are not using Disqus, my website isn’t showing any commenting box when Disqus fails to render, it must be some kind of script that is hitting and leaving the comments. I took a screen shot and added it to the list of oddities discovered during this blog update. I can always mark them as spam but where are they coming from and can I stop it, this never happened before my latest upgrade of WordPress and Disqus.
