Mysterious file called “quote sample” keeps appearing in my WP media library.

  • I am getting this mysterious file called “quote sample” which keeps reappearing in my wordpress media library. It is not a media image (JPEG/PNG) and I ams cared to open it in case it is something Malicious! I have deleted this several times but then it reappears after a few minutes yet agin.

    Seems really fishy!

    Has anyone encountered this before? Or does anyone know what it might be or how to diagnose it.

    Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.
