Mystery emailing

  • Hi,

    I have a wordpress install that has been disabled (I have renamed the index.php file). Today I am getting dozens and dozens of new user registration emails from the site. This should not be possible and I am absolutely stumped. Any ideas or comments welcomed.

    Even with index.php changed, they’re probably just hitting /wp-login.php?action=register directly.

    At Settings > General in your site’s Dashboard, uncheck “Anyone can register” to put a stop to that.
