That should work but it doesn’t.

Are you sure the margins are applying to the body?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I’m positive about that. The margins are definitely on the body element.

yes, they are margins. I see now why using “0 !important” doesn’t work. The style settings for the body element are:

body {
    margin: 0 8px !important;
}

So the 8px margins are already set using “!important” but I just don’t get why that is.

actually, it’s not that big a deal except that I have a full width header and footer so it’s quite noticeable.

Which is the page where product reviews are added?

The code I added is for the Amazon links so that when you mouse over the link a pop-up appears with some information about the product.
eg.: if you mouse over the link to the kindle Fire on the home page, you will see what I mean.
The code was added to footer.php
