    Hello

The spanish translation of this theme is just great but it have some problems. When a visitor comes to the site and send a comment the next time he comes again the system detects the user, even if he is not registered, using the cokie i guess and auto-add the nick of the guest if he is trying to send another comment.

So besides the name of the guest on the comment form theres a link, wich it says: “Cambiar %raquo;” that means “Change ….” i guess this is the link to “Change the user” just in case theres another person trying to add the comment.

So as u guess this part “%raquo;” doesnt mean nothing and its a translation problem (i guess) so i oponed the .mo and .po files of the spanish translation and I FOUND the string, the weird is even in english have those letters meaning nothing.

I change it and was hopping that fix the problem, but even when i change it on the translation file it doesnt show it on the blog.

I cleaned my temp info of my browser and still nothing.

?Where do i have to change this string? ?Why doesnt work even if i change it on the translation file?

    Thanx in advance.

  • looks like a error in the translation file.
    original string is Change »
and translated string should be Cambiar »

use PoEdit to modify the .mo/.po files…

The .po file have the correct translation, as u said “Cambiar »” but still, on the blog, shows that string: Cambiar » but it doesnt mean anything.

It have to said: “Cambiar Usuario” or just “Cambiar” but the word “»” doesnt mean nothing and feels like an error for every visitor.

Its weird when i set that code here in the WP forum appears those arrows but in my site, using explorer, u see the actual code. Where can be the error?

I have already explained, I’ll try again, maybe I wasn’t clear.

    the translated string from the .po file (in spanish) is Cambiar %raquo;
notice the %. this is wrong

    it should be
    Cambiar »
    notice the & sign

change that with PoEdit, recompile the translation, upload it to your server and your site will display the arrow. You could also contact the author of the translation to tell him about this ??

Thanx a lot! it is solved! ??

    Hi,

I have an unusual problem: I downloaded croatian .po and .mo files from the web and it works fine. Anyway, for my customer’s sake I had to change the ‘Post’ to ‘?lanak’, but when I did that and compiled it to .mo some other expressions were lost ??

    Any idea?
