    Hello!

I’m from Brazil and I’m building an ecommerce with your plugin and every configuration went just fine. It worked really well.

But I thought it was a bit weird that on checkout on the fields of credit card, it doesn’t ask for the credit card owner’s name.

Is that something particular to Stripe, they don’t ask this information on checkout? It doesn’t affect security? I tried to ask their support but since I was using your plugin they told me they couldn’t answer anything related to third party plugins.

    Thank you.

    Hi @rafaelzrt,

But I thought it was a bit weird that on checkout on the fields of credit card, it doesn’t ask for the credit card owner’s name.

The cardholder’s name comes from the billing first and last name fields. The cardholder name isn’t shown because your customer would have to enter the same info twice which isn’t ideal for conversion rates.

    Kind Regards,

Oh I see, so you pick the information from the WooCommerce fields. Ok, nice.

Does that means if a customer tries to pay with a credit card that he is not the owner it will result in an error as the name won’t match with the cardholder’s name? I couldn’t find a way to test that out with Stripe.

No, because the billing fields are meant for billing information. So if someone is for example paying with a corporate card that has a different name than their own, they would enter the billing name associated with the card; not their own name.

    Kind Regards,
