Name pages in multi-paginated posts

  • What I would like to do is use the normal page pagination technique for WordPress (using the <!–nextpage–> tag), but I would like to give each page of that post a different title so that the page navigation reads like this:

    Pages: Intro | Songs 30-21 | Songs 20-11 | Songs 10-1

    Instead of:

    Pages: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

    I don’t need the ability to change the Title tags. This isn’t for SEO…just a way to give more description in the page navigation of the post.

    There is a plugin available that’s perfect (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/multi-page-toolkit/), and it even gives the ability to show all the pages as single post (which I would also like), but it doesn’t work in version 3.0 and hasn’t been updated in two years.
