    hi,

I wonder if the native wordpress galleries still works with version 3.4.2 because I have more tabs “galleries” ( see) in the “Add an Image”. When I add [gallery] to a post (I’m on images attached to this post.) It does not display anything in my post (but I default image in the visual tab see)

Whatever the theme used (even with twenty ten and eleven), ditto with no plugin activated ….

    thank you for your help

    T.

It works just fine. Can we see a published page with a gallery?

    yes:

    here

it is as if no image was attached yet I’m 10 and attached to this post….

I’ll try to delete everything and start over

Are you uploading the images whilst editing the Post?

I have attached images to my post….

    no gallery tab
    … but no tab “galleries”

    visual mode
The code [gallery] seems to be interpreted as though the default image is displayed.

(I of course tried with different templates (default, gallery …) of themes twenty ten and eleven …), no plugin activated …. this is banging his head against the wall (old French expression)

thanks for any help or ideas

Those screenshots aren’t much help. I cannot tell what Post those images are attached to. Have you tried carrying out a completely fresh WordPress in a sub-folder and seeing if you can replicate the problem in that using the default theme and no plugins?

    Esmi,

Are you uploading the images whilst editing the Post?

No, I went through the “medias” menu for uploading images as well as attachment.

Following your post I just load images via the edit menu in another post and this time it works …. is not it strange?

I’ve just tried your process of uploading images via Media -> Add New and then attaching the image to a pre-existing (gallery) post and it works fine for me. I carried out the test using the Twenty Eleven theme. It might be worth checking your site’s error logs in case there are any errors relating to database queries on your site.

    Esmi,

    thank you for your help.

I’ll try with a new installation of wordpress, but I said that is recent (I have tested without any “plugin” and the default themes) and screenshots are there to confirm that the files are attached to my post (originally I had only this single post, so no mistake, by the way the wording is the same: “Huit logements individuels”).

ps: sorry if my English is not very good

Your English is just fine. ??

From the symptoms you describe, it sounds like a table in your database isn’t being updated correctly. Hence when WP tied to locate any file attachments for a given Post or Page, it can’t find any. so no Gallery tab in the back end of the site in the Edit Post page and no displayed gallery images in the front end.

Since there are definitely no outstanding bugs of this kind in WP 3.4.2, and we’ve ruled out themes & plugins, that just leaves the server and database as the possible culprits. That’s why I think checking the site’s error logs might be a good idea.

This is undoubtedly a problem of this kind. I will crush my database and start on a sound basis. thank you again for your prompt assistance.

I mark this topic as resolved
