Native wordpress mp3 embed is not displaying in browser?

  • I had to insert it as a video which then created this in the post:

    <p><audio src="https://www.companyofvalor.org/download/eq-electric_funstuff-has_anybody_seen_my_corpse.mp3" controls="controls"></audio></p>

    If I just put in the MP3 link all by itself, it just converted it to text and I got no player. For whatever reason doesn’t auto-convert it into <audio> tags.
