  • Hi there digorange. Thanks for the note here, and sorry to hear about the inconvenience you’re faced with. Not sure why your post would disappear off the dot-org forum here but happy to do what I can to troubleshoot the core issue…

Regarding the header navigation not displaying, my guess is that you’re faced with the same problem impacting certain users in this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-the-events-calendar-navigation-from-template-get-lost?replies=42. I would review that and follow the suggestions therein to see if it helps you out. The easiest solution right off the bat might just be switching to a different Template under Events -> Settings -> Template.

On the radio button problem: assuming you’ve selected the default frontend view for your Events to be calendar instead of list view, the calendar will appear at /events on your site (list view, meanwhile, will always live at /events/upcoming). What happens if you manually navigate to (siteurl.com)/events?

That does not work there are 3 choices in template and all do not have the Nav bar show up?

    link is here: https://jenniferswain.com/cchhm/?post_type=tribe_events

When I click on calendar or list it shows up though??? so why not on arrival?? I did the prettypermalinks link and still not working.

YES I clicked the radio btn to open on the CALENDAR not the list view… in the settings for CALENDAR and it still opens in list view?? How do I change the URL then to open in Calendar?

    Thank you for your help!!!

One other thing that would be great is to make the calendar widget clickable… so it will go to the page.. it is not a link? Is it possible to make the link so it will go to the calendar?

    Thanks a million!

Hi again digorange. Can you confirm whether this is still occurring even after updating to 2.0.10? If so, mind sharing the name of your theme and whether you’ve customized/modified it yourself at all? This is looking to be theme-centric.

On the calendar widget side: we do have a calendar widget that links users to specific events, but at this point it is a PRO-exclusive feature. You can read more about PRO and what it comes with right here: https://tri.be/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/.

not sure about update. I believe it is updated or wouldnt it tell me to update? The theme is Tribe and I did not customize much, just header, logo, color stuff. When i try it without the calendar it works… but it will not work right with the calendar.

On the calendar widget all i want it to link to is the calendar page not spec events.

On the calendar /List deal, I just want the page to open in CALENDAR and not list mode when you get there.

All these 3 things seem like they should work w/out pro. If I cant get them to work then the client is not going to purchase pro.

If the link from the Nav for CALENDAR went here:
    https://jenniferswain.com/cchhm/events/month/
    instead of here:
    https://jenniferswain.com/cchhm/?post_type=tribe_events
Then it would solve 2 issues on my list.
I cant find how to change that or if it is possible?

And the other to explain better… on the widget in sidebar is there a way to make the calendar icon (the square with the dates) just click to the CALENDAR page? Not specific events.

ALSO.. Right now a mo appears at the bottom that links to the posts that are made and I would like that to go away completely because people want to click the mo. for events that are in that month not just posted in that mo. make sense?? So clicking on the past OCT at the bottom shows a page with posts that are made in OCT… not events that are in the mo. of OCT. Can I make that go away?

Thank you Kindly and whole heartedly.

Hey again Jen. Thanks for the follow-up here. If I understand your question on the first bit, changing the nav link for calendar: can you not set this under Appearance -> Menus? Just copying and pasting that link you shared here as a custom link and saving so it’s reflected on the frontend?

The mini-calendar widget you’ve got in place there is not an Events calendar, keep in mind…it’s the built-in WordPress calendar widget that shows posts based on when they were added (instead of showing events based on when they’re occurring). There is a mini calendar widget for Events like you’re describing, but it’s limited to the PRO release: https://tri.be/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/.

Hope that helps. Please let me know if I misunderstood your request.

Thank you that worked and I will let them know that when they buy PRO they will get the side widget to link to the actual page.

    Thanks.

Excellent to hear. Thanks for confirming as much, Jen, and for the quick response. Please let us know if we can do anything else in the future. Looking forward to seeing you on the PRO forums!
